The flat
A two-bedroom flat in a Regency townhouse, a stone's throw from the water. Sun-flooded, book-lined, and looking straight out to sea.
Made by hand, mostly ours
We renovated Marina Beach House in 2022 with the help of family, countless YouTube tutorials and Amandeep's architecture background — trawling East Sussex's second-hand shops for furniture, keeping what was already beautiful, and heating it all as gently as we could.

Herringbone oak, terracotta walls and a bay window that frames nothing but water. Breakfast at the round table, an evening on the sofa, several hundred books in between.
A proper cook's kitchen with an island full of cookbooks. Induction hob, oven, dishwasher, a coffee machine that froths — and the sea over your shoulder while the kettle boils.
Deep teal, a slatted timber headboard and bedding you won't forget. Original cornicing overhead, the old sandstone cliffs of Hastings outside.
Olive walls, a jungle of a wallpapered alcove and a mid-century desk under the window — for the postcard, or the inbox if you really must.
Floor-to-ceiling glazed blue tile, brass fittings and a full-size bath with a shower over. Hot water day and night from a smart, low-energy tank.
